The Orangery, Turkey Mill — Wedding Photography in Maidstone, Kent

Wedding Photography at The Orangery, Maidstone

The Orangery at Turkey Mill is one of those venues that gives a photographer plenty to work with — nine acres of landscaped gardens, a private lake, a waterfall, and a choice of really distinct spots for your ceremony and photos.

We've had the pleasure of photographing a wedding here as part of a two-photographer team, and it's a venue we'd jump at the chance to shoot again — this time as your main photographer.

A Venue With Real Variety

What makes The Orangery special for photography is the choice it gives you across the day:

  • The outdoor Gazebo, for a ceremony surrounded by the gardens

  • The woodland Lapa, tucked by the lake for something a little more intimate

  • The Garden Room, if you'd rather keep things indoors with natural light flooding in

  • The bridge over the lake, which makes for a genuinely beautiful spot for portraits

  • The main Orangery building itself for your wedding breakfast and evening celebrations

With exclusive use of the venue, there's no rush and no other events to work around — which as photographers, we love, because it means we can take our time capturing the day properly rather than working against a clock.

Our Style at The Orangery

We shoot in a relaxed, documentary way wherever we're working, and a venue like this — with its gardens, water and natural light — gives us a lot to play with. From quiet moments getting ready, through to golden hour by the lake and dancing under festoon lighting in the evening, we focus on capturing your day as it actually happens rather than a long list of posed shots.
